They are high in fiber, potassium, flavonoids, and antioxidant vitamins (such as vitamins C and E) that research has shown can decrease the risk of heart disease and blood pressure.

Green Leafy Vegetables: Green leaf and romaine lettuce, spinach, Swiss chard, and mustard greens

Citrus Fruits: Oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit (and their juices)

Do I have to eat only fresh produce?
No. All fruits and vegetables are healthy and offer many benefits for your body. Enjoy all forms of fruits and veggies, fresh or frozen vegetables and fruits, low-sodium canned vegetables, canned fruit packed in juice or water, and 100% fruit or vegetable juice.
