This banana split bread is a sundae in a slice! It’s a fun twist on classic banana bread, adding dried cherries, nuts and chocolate. Kids will enjoy it as a yummy treat, and you’ll enjoy sneaking extra fruit into the day. Serve with whipped cream for a little extra flair – it’s fantastic for breakfast or dessert at any time of day!

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the bananas and add the butter in a large bowl.
  3. Into the same bowl, mix in the baking soda, salt, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix in the flour until incorporated.
  4. Stir in walnuts, chocolate chunks, and dried cherries (make sure the cherries are tossed with 1 tablespoon of flour to prevent sinking).
  5. Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
