A little tangy, a little sweet, and just enough citrus to brighten it all up. These fig “flowers” bring together creamy blue cheese, juicy fruit and a hint of lemon for a bite that feels equal parts fresh and special.

Instructions

  1. Remove the tough tip of all the figs then make two cuts at the top of each (but don’t go all the way to the bottom) forming a cross then open the figs slightly from the top to fill the center of each fig with blue cheese.
  2. Top the cheese with about ¼ teaspoon lemon zest then place as much toasted nuts as possible on top. They stick nicely to blue cheese!
  3. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
