What are good food choices & recipes to manage high blood pressure?

All fruits and veggies can help lower high blood pressure due to the presence of potassium found naturally in all produce. Potassium helps regulate blood pressure by enabling the body to excrete excess sodium through urine. Try to limit your intake of  processed foods (e.g. canned soups, frozen meals, crackers) that are high in sodium.

The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet is a good model to follow since fruits and vegetables are a large component of the diet, which also focuses on including lean protein options and fat-free or low-fat dairy, limiting foods that are high in saturated fats and limiting sugar-sweetened beverages and sweets.
