Can you tell me about the benefits of juicing?

Answer

There are many claims about the benefits of juicing, most of which are not backed by scientific evidence.  However, juicing can be a convenient way to consume fruits and vegetables when on the run or for something different.  Juicing different combinations of fruits and vegetables gets a wider variety of fruits and vegetables into the diet, and thus, a wider variety of nutrients.  Try mixing bananas, oranges, and strawberries. Add blueberries for a burst of blue or spinach for a burst of green while adding more vitamins and minerals without changing the flavor.

One down side to juicing is that most juicers extract most of the fiber, so juicing should only be one of the ways fruits and vegetables are included in the diet.  The best way to get an adequate amount of fiber in your diet is to eat a variety of forms of fruits and veggies.  See Juicing 101
