Harvest
Spring Onions and Radishes (NE, SE, EC, SW)
Leaf Lettuce (SW, lower SE)
Plant
Fruit and Vegetable Seeds/Seedlings
- Spring Onions, Radishes (UC)
- Strawberry, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Brussels Sprouts Seedlings (All Regions except UC)
- Blueberry, Blackberry, Raspberry Bushes (All Regions except UC)
NOTE: The ‘bushes’ will appear more like a small branch and won’t have many, if any, leaves. This is OK, it’s supposed to look like this and will sprout leaves within 2-4 weeks after planting.- Pepper, Tomato Seedlings (SE & SW)
- Carrots, Onions, Lettuce Seeds (NE)
- Cucumbers, Squash, Corn, Herbs, Carrots, Onions, Lettuce, Beans, Peas, Okra, Any Other Seeds (SE & SW)
Thin
Time to thin the pea and bean seedlings (if planted seeds in March). The seedlings should be 1-2”. Thin by pulling out every other seedling. Thinning allows the seedlings to grow to full potential height and bear the greatest amount of ‘fruit.’
Monitor Moisture
Monitor moisture level of the soil; it should be moist to the touch, and a small amount of the soil should stick to your fingertip. If no soil sticks to your fingertip, you need to water.
Fertilize
Fertilize seedlings using any organic or chemical fertilizer.
Weed
Weed, if necessary.
Strawberry Plants
Remove the straw from the strawberry plants. The evening temperatures should be warm enough in all regions that the strawberry plants no longer need the insulation supplied by the straw.
