Raisins are dried, therefore they will absorb any liquid that they are cooked or soaked in. Liquid will soften and plump them up. Try making Carrot Raisin Salad that uses re-hydrated raisins or Curried Chicken with Raisins & Mushrooms which softens the raisins during the cooking period.
