Have a Plant: Fruits & Veggies for Better Health

To get more veggies in my diet, I pack a frozen “steam in the pack” veggie pack, like snap peas or Brussels sprouts, in my lunch bag and cook them in the microwave at work to use as a main dish. Then for dessert, I have a luscious piece of fresh fruit like a pear or a plum. For breakfast, I make a smoothie with plain (lowfat, unsweetened) yogurt, frozen fruit and 100% juice (orange or apple is great). Just pop it all in the blender and liquefy. Put it in a to-go cup with a straw for a great breakfast on the go that contains at least two servings of fruit and is rich in calcium.
