This fruity mixer is perfect for creating spooky Halloween cocktails!

Instructions

  1. Place fruit in a mason jar. Add sugar to fruit and let sit about 15 minutes before muddling the fruit with a muddling tool to expel juices.
  2. Stir in vinegar. Cover and let steep in the fridge for 3 days.   Strain out solids and keep in a jar. Store in the fridge until ready to use. Blackberry shrub syrup keeps in the fridge for about a month.
  3. To serve, drink 1-2 tablespoons or add to a glass of ice with vodka, sparkling water, and garnish with fresh blackberries.

Recipe Notes:

What is a shrub?

A shrub is a non-alcoholic mixture consisting of sugar, fruit, and vinegar. Aromatics like thyme or lemon peel can be added for flair.  Add shrubs to alcohol or sparkling water with ice to make fun cocktails or refreshing mocktails.
