I am allergic to tree nuts. What can I substitute for nuts?

Answer

A tree nut allergy is very serious. All nuts need to be excluded from the diet with the exception of peanuts and seeds. Peanuts are a legume and thus differ from tree nuts. Seeds such as sunflower can also be consumed. However, make sure to check with your doctor to be sure that you are not allergic to peanuts as well before incorporating them into your diet.
