Is there such a thing as too much fruit? I LOVE LOVE LOVE fresh or dried fruit and I eat them everyday. I always have some form of fruit in my breakfast, 1 or both of my small snacks, lunch, occassionally in my dinner, and quite often in my dessert. My sister says that I sometimes over-do-it, but I don’t feel that is the case. I am studying to become a certified dietian, and I would like to know as much as possible. Thanks!

It’s great that you are reaching for fruit for snacks and including it in your meals.
Consumption of fruit would be considered excessive if the fruit is replacing other foods that are needed for health, including vegetables, protein foods, calcium-rich foods, and whole grains.
It would also be excessive if it was causing weight gain.
You can see your recommendations for intake of different foods, including fruits and vegetables at www.mypyramid.gov.
