This sweet orange butter can turn a slice of toast or a plain buttermilk biscuit into a decadent breakfast or brunch. Use it to top pancakes or waffles on Saturday morning, or make up a batch and store it in sealable containers to give as a gift with a basket of fresh baked goods.
Instructions
- Place the butter, honey, and orange zest into the bowl of a mixer fitted with the whisk attachment.
- Split and scrape the half of vanilla bean. Add the seed paste to the bowl.
- Mix on medium for 30 seconds, and then mix on high for about 1 minute.
- Stop the mixer and scrape the sides of the bowl. Mix on high for 30 more seconds or until the butter reaches your desired whipped consistency.
- Serve immediately, or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks. Allow the butter to sit at room temperature for at least 10 minutes to soften it before serving.
