Charcuterie boards are all the rage. Give your tasty tray an upgrade by including peanuts as a key flavor bomb and plant-based protein addition. I like to think about charcuterie and snack boards as an opportunity to highlight the major flavors – sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami (savory) – and a variety of textures to encourage people to try new foods. This is a flexible concept, so feel free to swap out elements or abbreviate them if you are feeding fewer people. If you’re feeding more people or enjoying this for dinner, include the optional suggestion at the end.

Instructions

  1. Place the in-shell peanuts in a not-too-straight line across the center of the board.
  2. Arrange the larger items, such as the cheese and foods in containers, around the board.
  3. Fill in with the smaller items, such as fruit and crackers.
  4. Lastly, fill any gaps with shelled peanuts and dried fruit.
